A project of the Texas Council on Economic Education

The Personal Finance Challenge is on.  Are your student teams registered to play the challenge?

The Personal Finance Challenge is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge of personal finance. By competing with other students, this competition provides a useful tool to help encourage students and it generates excitement in the classroom. Join hundreds of high school and middle school students across the state in this great academic challenge.

Every high school student and middle school student in Texas is invited to compete in the PFL Challenge.

Due to changes in the grant funding timeline, the Texas Council on Economic Education (TCEE) will be unable to host the Personal Finance Challenge in 2016. Please look for the Personal Finance Challenge again in 2017.

Thanks to the Council for Economic Education (CEE), the Economics Challenge will continue in 2016 as an online challenge. Go to https://econchallenge.unl.edu/Texas to register your students.

Students compete in one of three divisions - David Ricardo for in level students new to Econ, Adam Smith for the veterans and AP/IB students, and Milton Friedman division for the middle school students. There are SIX regions in Texas: North Texas including the Greater  Dallas and.  Ft. Worth area, Greater Houston area, Central Texas, West Texas, South Texas and East Texas.

We look forward to seeing your students in the competition.
